Father Lopez Shootout 4 Pack

We were able to take a quick trip over to Daytona for the Father Lopez Shootout which was headlined by Father Lopez versus Timber Creek in the night cap on Saturday.

Lopez at home built a double digit lead and despite a comeback attempt by Timber Creek was able to hold on to the win led by Seniors (2021’s) Tierra White (Quinnipiac) and Khadijah Faye (Texas Tech) inside.

Here are four players which caught our eye at Father Lopez.

Taliah Scott 2023 – Bolles: Leading Freshman Scorer in Florida – CHECK Leading Scorer in North Florida regardless of class – CHECK – Scott is having a monster freshman year. Regardless of class Scott is one of the best shooters in the state and put on a show against Oviedo at Father Lopez hitting seven threes in the win.

Tyja Beans 2023 – Spruce Creek – Athletic and aggressive for her age can play spots 1-5 in high school Tyja Beans is one of the most underrated freshmen in Florida. Playing on the current #1 team in Class 7A she has been a huge force for them inside doing whatever Coach Kelvin Hamm needs her to do. Beans is poised to get some major attention with a deep playoff run this season and into the future as she develops.

Kayla Clark 2021 – Miami Central – Without a doubt the best player I had not seen this year. Powerful forward who can step out and face up physically imposing and potentially a Power 5 Prospect. Clark kept her Miami Central team close with Brooks for a half before they pulled away but her talent was undeniable as possibly the best 2021 in Dade County.

Savannah Henderson 2022 – Timber CreekUCF Head Coach Katie Abe’s daughter is one of the top 2022’s in the country and showed well in this game. Henderson can play positions 1 -5 in high school as well and showed range in Timber Creek’s loss to Father Lopez. While other players in Florida on the wing are getting a lot of attention nationally Savannah Henderson may end up being the Sunshine State’s best 2022 at the next level.
