Jr. All-Star NCAAW Preseason Top 30 Players

It’s almost here! We are in the final countdown and under five days away from the start of the 22-23 NCAAW Season. Despite some big-name players missing the upcoming season due to injuries, there is still tons of talent spread out throughout the country. Here we name the Jr. All-Star Preseason Top 30:

1. Aliyah Boston – South Carolina

There is no question in anyone’s mind who the top player in the country is heading into the season. The best player on the best team to start the season is Boston.

2. Haley Jones – Stanford

The versatility will go to another level as the usual forward/wing will share large minutes running the point guard position for her group with title aspirations.

3. Caitlin Clark – Iowa

Clark is a walking highlight reel and will likely fill up the scoresheet in every way imaginable again this season. Will this be the year they make it over the edge and fight for a final four?

4. Elizabeth Kitley – Virginia Tech

If it wasn’t for Boston, Kitley would have the distinction of being the most talented center in the country. She likely will have a hand in everything her Hokies team looks to do on both sides of the ball.

5. Hailey Van Lith – Louisville

After falling short in the final four, this season is HVL’s time to ascend to the superstar pedestal and if she plays up to her potential, she will have Louisville in the hunt for trophies.

6. Cameron Brink – Stanford

Brink makes a dominant 1-2 punch with Jones and has the ability to send shots packing with the best of them on defense as well as a growing offensive skillset.

7. Ashley Joens – Iowa State

The do-it-all Joens returned to Iowa State with one thing in mind. Winning. She is looking to have her Cyclones team fight for Big 12 supremacy as well as in the hunt for a keep NCAA tournament run.

8. Rori Harmon – Texas

The feisty and creative guard took the Big 12 by storm last season and I would expect even more to be on her shoulders for the top-five Longhorns. She can score, she can defend, and she will be the straw that stirs the Texas drink.

9. Maddy Siegrist – Villanova

It takes a pretty special player and season to pull an award from UConn in the Big East, however that is exactly what Maddy did with her outstanding play. I would expect that to continue this season and for her to be a household name soon.

10. Aneesah Morrow – DePaul

Morrow hit the ground at a dead sprint and never looked back. She was outstanding from the jump averaging a double-double and looks to continue her forceful and impressive play into year two.

11. Olivia Miles – Notre Dame

Olivia gives the Irish the type of versatile and talented guard is hasn’t had since the likes of Skylar Diggins-Smith. She will be in the thick of everything her team does on the offensive side of the game.

12. Azzi Fudd – UConn

The path is cleared, shined, and ready for Azzi to take off the season. With injuries and a six-year title drought, Huskie-land is hoping Fudd turning into the superstar she was destined to be will fix all of those issues.

13. Rickea Jackson – Tennessee

Jackson was the heart and soul of Mississippi State the last few seasons and knows the SEC well. If she is even half as good for the Lady Vols this season as she was during her years at MSU, Tennessee might be breaking that final four wall down this year.

14. Ashley Owusu – Virginia Tech

Owusu is a big, physical and highly skilled guard who could very well be the missing piece to push the Hokies from a good team to an Elite team this season.

15. Angel Reese – LSU

The athletic and relentless game of Reese has moved to Baton Rouge and is helping set the groundwork for a Tigers team with SEC Championships and NCAA runs in their sights.

16. Zia Cooke – South Carolina

Cooke is a fantastic scorer both off the drive as well as from outside the arc. Couple that with her lock-down defensive intensity and she will be one of main reasons the Gamecocks are able to stay on top this season.

17. Grace Berger – Indiana

The midrange maestro is back for a 5th season and looking to help the Hoosiers climb the college basketball mountain to a final four. One of the most physical and consistent players in the country.

18. Jordan Horston – Tennessee

Despite some big name transfers, this Lady Vols team is still Horston’s team and her versatility and athleticism makes her one of the most explosive and entertaining players in the SEC.

19. Jacy Sheldon – Ohio State

Jacy Sheldon brings elite-level speed and thief-like defensive skills to the court. She is a knockdown 3-point shooter, and will be one of the main players the Buckeyes will look to as leader this season.

20. Monika Czinano – Iowa

Monika is arguably the most efficient and effective player in the entire country and is back for a 5th season. Coupled with the high-octane Clark, Monika is one part of possibly the best duo in both the Big Ten and the country.

21. Shaylee Gonzales – Texas

Shaylee provides elite-level scoring for a Longhorns team that was already a strong scoring team. She could be the X-factor for Texas this season as it wants to climb back into the national spotlight.

22. Jakia Brown-Turner – NC State

Brown-Turner can play inside and outside and could be expected to take on more of a scoring and rebounding role this year with the graduations the Wolfpack lost from last season.

23. Gianna Kneepkens – Utah

The reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the year is looking to take her game to the next level as a sophomore and continue her strong play. A lethal outside shooter and one of the best scorers in the Pac-12.

24. Aijha Blackwell – Baylor

Blackwell was the top rebounder last season, and I would expect that high motor and intensity to translate perfectly to Waco. She was a walking double-double last year and should expect nothing less than that this season.

25. Mackenzie Holmes – Indiana

Holmes missed large amounts of the last season due to injury and she is looking to return with a force. A perfect inside compliment to the midrange and outside scoring guards surrounding her this season.

26. Charlisse Leger-Walker – Washington State

A fantastic scorer with or without the ball in her hands. She is one of the best players in the Pac-12 and not enough people talk about her. A fantastic season and leading WSU to more success could turn that around.

27. KiKi Rice – UCLA

Move over Magic Johnson, the next showtime has arrived in the LA area. Rice was the top-rated guard in the class of 2022, and I would expect her to be a highlight reel every time she steps onto the court.

28. Taylor Mikesell – Ohio State

The sharpshooter is back and the Big Ten all takes a sigh of despair knowing that they have to gameplan for her again this season. There might not be a quicker shooting or scoring backcourt in the country than Mikesell and Sheldon for the Buckeyes.

29. Alyssa Ustby – North Carolina

Ustby is a versatile forward who fits the run-and-gun system of the Tar Heels perfectly. Alyssa will be looked to on both sides of the ball in heavy doses this season for a team with extremely high goals.

30. Janiah Barker- Texas A&M

Barker hasn’t played a single minute of college basketball as of yet and she still carries herself with a player that soon could not only be one of the best freshmen but one of the best players in the country. She has all the intangibles and physical gifts to have an outstanding freshman year.
