Evaluation
Minnesota Fall Exclusive (October 2020)
Pressley is a player who gives 100% out on the court 100% of the time. She will never take a play off on either side of the ball and that kind of effort and energy can be contagious for her teammates. She shows a willingness to fight down low in the painted area for rebounds and does a good job of chasing down rebounds or diving onto the floor if there is a scrum for a loose ball. On offense, she is equally willing to give it her all in an attempt to score. She shows a nice ability to finish through traffic and using her height to rise over smaller defenders for close range shots. Her area of opportunity will be exercising her patience or strong decision making when it comes to going for steals or deflections. Her high energy has her looking to get steals and deflections that could lead to easy buckets for her team, however unfortunately at times it leaves her out of position. Her hard-working attitude will get her plenty or deflections simply by continuing to give unwavering effort.
MN Summer Showcase (August 2020)
Pressley is just coming into her offensive skillset. You can see that she has the ability to score from multiple places on the court and is effective in whichever area she chooses. She has a nice runner that she can get off in the painted area if taller defenders come at her to contest the shot. She also is a capable and confident shooter from 3-point range, especially if she gets open from the corners of the court. She also can be a vocal leader for her team. She can be heard telling teammates when she is in help side defense, on picks her you can clearly here her calling it out or to say switch with her teammate. Her area of opportunity will be not allowing the defense to speed her up. At times she may rush a shot when the defensive pressure is picked up. She has the ability to make the defense pay if they are pressing up on her with a back-door cut or strong dribble-drive move.
MN Summer Showcase (July 2021)
Pressley showed that she is a player that has developed a strong sense of confidence in her game. She carries herself as someone who knows she can handle her own on both sides of the game. On defense, she uses her long wingspan and timing to come up with emphatic blocks close to the basket. Being a player who is capable of playing and scoring from the guard position, but also slide downlow and fight for tough rebounds and stop easy buckets with her blocking makes her a complete two-way player. An area of opportunity for her would be to continue to work on her ball handling. She at times doesn’t appear fully confident in her handles and will do a jumper instead of powering her way to basket. If she can tighten up the handles and work towards being able to create more off the bounce and control the ball in traffic will allow her to keep defenders off balanced and trying to guess if she will shoot or create for a close-range shot.
