8th Grade
Fall Exclusive 2022 Fiona came at games with a relentless intensity and all out energy to everything she did on the court. On both sides of the game, if there was a hustle play to make, you can bet that not only would Fiona make it, but she would also do it quicker than anyone else on the court. On defense she was a pest in the best sense of the word and whoever she was guarding was going to be frustrated and forced in consistently tough shots or forced poor percentage passes. On the offensive side, anytime she saw daylight from behind the arc, she would drill the shot with ease. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to create scoring opportunities for her teammates. With her energy, driving to the basket is going to pull in defenders to try and stop her or crowd her and looking for teammates in the corner more or realizing where the openings are will make defenders second guess throwing multiple at her. Summer Showcase (MN) August 2020 Fiona showed a deceptive strength. Multiple times she would get switched out onto taller or bigger players and held her own. You would see at times they tried to back her down and she held her ground and didn’t get pushed around. On offense she was effective when she got a shot in the painted area. Even short jumpers were consistent if was able to get the shot. An area of opportunity for her would be working on not getting rushed by the defense. At times she would allow defenders to speed her up on her shot or her ball handling. She has the scoring ability to make them pay if they try and speed her up and she stays calm and plays her game. Summer Showcase (July 2021) Fiona is a speed demon with or without the ball in her hands. She has the type of speed that can wear out defenders and make it hard for them to keep up the intensity to try and stick with her or slow her down. Her ball handling is impressive as she can keep the ball under control in traffic and allows her to escape crowds or get out of traps with ease. When it comes to scoring, she has a smooth stroke to her shot and can pull off floaters or runners and finish them with regularity. Her area of opportunity would be to continue working on her confidence in her outside shot. She appeared apprehensive at times to pull the trigger on an open look from behind the arc but has shown she has the mechanics and shooting form to be a good shooter and could add another weapon to her arsenal to burn the defense.
