I'm a 5'9" combo guard from Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield MN. I am an agile player that can jump high, run the floor well, and has the strength and quickness to defend inside or on the perimeter. My on the court strengths include a smooth and accurate jump shot from both 3-point range and mid range, court vision to find open teammates, a quick first step to get past defenders on drives to the basket, and the ability to finish through contact.

Fall Exclusive 2022 Jenna really showed a renewed and impressive ability to secure tough rebounds and finish around the rim. She was one of the best at the 3-week event at coming up with rebounds in a crowd or beating opponents to the ball as it came off the rim. She wasted no time, once she secured the ball, going back up and finish through contact. While she also is a known knock-down 3-point shooter, she showed a smooth midrange pullup and if she got an open look either off the bounce or coming off screens, she likely connected on the shot with little to no care if the defender was in her face or not. Her area of opportunity is to continue to work on her ball handling and ability to take players off the bounce or create openings with crossovers or hesitation dribbles. This will be another step in her continuingly growing offensive game. MN Featured40 2022 The normally lethal outside shooter showed that she is more than capable of taking defenders off the bounce and using her strength to absorb contact and finish around the rim. Throughout the day, she seemed to even be seeking contact and looking to overpower defenders on her way to the basket. She also used her strength to seek a body on defense and box out her matchup really well and not allowing them to run in or get the ball. Her area of opportunity would be just to not forget to go to her bread and butter with her outside shot. At times you could see she made a conscience decision to turn down jump shots to try and put the ball on the floor. She should never go too far away from her strongest attribute which is her highly effective outside shot. All-American Showcase 2022 Jenna was a physically imposing guard throughout the event. On both sides of the ball, she used her physicality and strength to overpower her opponents. On defense, she was able to body up players attacking off the bounce and beating them to their spot and making them shoot tough and contested shots. She also showed a determination when it came to rebounding and would crash in around the rim for rebounds and did not hesitate to get on the floor to fight for 50/50 balls for her team. On offense, she did a good job of looking for her spots to try and score. If she felt she had the spacing, she would pull for a smooth outside shot or she would put her head down and look to attack off the dribble and finish around the rim. Her are of opportunity would be continuing to work on finishing through contact. At times she appeared to look to avoid contact on the drive and in return would make the shot more difficult or missed. Just working on not hesitating to go right at the defender and not be afraid of being blocked will help her make herself a stronger finisher. MN AAU State Tournament- May 2022 Jenna showed a renewed determination to work her way to close to the basket for tough scoring opportunities. She multiple times used her strong upper body strength and powered past defenders and either finish in the paint or get herself to the free-throw line. Even when defenders were sagged off prepared for her attack off the bounce, she still showed that she could maneuver around defenders and create a high percentage look and finished at a high rate. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on rebounding from the guard position. With her quick foot speed and physical strength, she should be able to secure multiple rebounds in a game and could even start the march up the court for her team. MN State Prelims 2022 Buer, a known 3-point snipper by nature, showed that defenders can no longer just play her for the shot. This weekend she showed her toughness not only fighting for rebounds in a crowd, but also using her upper body strength to absorb contact and still has the focus to finish the shot. In showing a willingness to attack off the bounce or fight for close range shots, she forced defenders to play her as a 3-level scorer and helps keeping spacing open for teammates to cut or dive towards the basket. Her area of opportunity would be to just remember not to turn down outside shots and get singularly focused on getting inside the arc shots. At times it seemed liked she turned down a few opportunities outside the arc and powered into a crowd for tough shots. I think with her shooting stroke, she should always be comfortable pulling up the shot with an opening. The Elite Experience Minneapolis 2022 Jenna is a known knockdown 3-point shooter, but this camp showed that she has put in work to diversify her skillsets. She showed a determination and competitiveness during the drills to finish each strong and go hard at any and all of the shooting or ball handling drills. When it came to shooting, she is natural with a picture-perfect form on her shot. Her area of opportunity would be finishing with her off hand more consistently. Being able to add a consistent and high percentage finishing ability with her non-dominate hand will make her that much more difficult to slow down on offense. Featured40 Minnesota (November 2020) Jenna showed that she can effective anywhere on the court she was asked to be. She has an upper body strength that allows her to not be pushed around or allow players to get through her for easy buckets. She also used her strength to hold off players on the boxout and secures the rebound. On offense, she showed that she is still as effective as ever if the defense dared to give a look from behind the 3-point line. She also looked to use her deceptive quickness to drive past defenders to get inside the paint. She showed that she could absorb a good amount of contact and still get the shot up to the rim. Her area of opportunity would be just to work on not allowing defenses to speed her up close to the basket. She has strong finishing ability and just slowing down on the release will force the defense to either have to foul her or give up the points. Minnesota Fall Exclusive (October 2020) Buer is a high energy player who doesn’t back down to anyone on the court. First, she shows no fear in getting down low and competing for tough rebounds. On defense, she had quick footspeed and quick hands that allow her to disrupt opposing ball handlers and keep them in front on her. If those opposing guards get loose with their dribble, she can strike with quick deflections and steals and cause turnovers in live ball situations. If terms of the offensive side of the ball, Buer can be a dangerous 3-point shooter. She can hit early and often if she gets rolling from behind the arc. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to expand her offensive skillset and work on perfecting her shot in the mid-range as well getting all the way to the basket and putting pressure on the defense. She has the speed that she could put a lot of pressure inside the arc on the defense as well as continuing to burn them from the outside. MN AAU State Tournament - May 2021 Jenna is a lethal outside shooting threat. She showed off the ability to get her feet set quickly and with her high release on the ball, it makes it difficult for defenders to contest her shot. She showed that she is equally effective in both the catch and shoot game as well as creating a shot off the bounce. She also showed the body control to stop instantly in a run on the fast break and get her 3-point shot off with success. She also showed a good read on when defenders would be off balance or closing out too hard and would put the ball on the deck to work closer to the basket. An area of opportunity for her would be just to continue to work on and refine her ball handling skills. She has the right moves and ideas on the court and being able to have both confidence in her handles and tightening them up so she can control the dribble in traffic will allow her to be even more dangerous once the ball gets into her hands. Mill City Invitational - July 2021 Jenna is known for her 3-point shooting ability, so the fact that she was a consistent scorer from behind the arc throughout the tournament was not a surprise to anyone. However, Jenna also made people aware that she is not just a shooter but a pure scorer. She showed she can score from anywhere on the floor. She made good, strong drives to the basket and displayed the body control to absorb the contact or even create the contact to get herself to the free-throw line. An area of opportunity for her would be to continue to sharpen her ball handling skills. Making sure that she can handle with both hands and is comfortable attacking and controlling the ball with either hand will make her that much more of a difficult check for the defense.
