Minnesota Fall Exclusive (October 2020)
Piper is one of the more physically impressive players around. She has the upper body strength that allows her to defend almost any position out on the court. She uses her strength to uproot and push post players away from the basket and doesn’t allow to get close range shots easily. With guards she has the strength to body them up and the foot speed to keep the driving players in front of her and not allowing them to get into painted area. With rebounded, she can hold her position downlow and keeps charging players crashing for rebounds from getting the ball. She goes up and secures the ball and once it’s in her hands, there is no knocking it away from her. On the offense side of the ball, she seems to be the most comfortable in the pick and roll game and can run both the ball handler position or set a solid screen and rolls to the basket. Once she has the ball in her hands, she can absorb contact on the way to the basket and barely is knocked off her stride and is able to finish the close-range shot. Her area of opportunity would be her outside shooting. She is a hard player to stop on both sides of the ball inside the arc and if she could have a consistent 3-point shot, that would take her already high-level game and take it to another level.
