Evaluation
MN AAU State 2023
Emma showed impressive footspeed from the post and forward position. She showed the ability to multiple times was able to beat down opponents or opposing post players down the court. She also showed the good hands to be able to catch the ball on the move or inside the paint and uses her strength to hold onto the ball and not allow defenders to knock it away from her. She showed that she could do a good job to call for the ball and worked to give her teammates a big target to throw the ball down to and she showed that once she gets the ball, she is going to try and keep it high and look to finish over her shoulder with two feet inside the paint throughout the weekend. Her are of opportunity would be continuing to work on reading if or when multiple defenders are surrounding her or if guards are coming down to swipe at the ball. Just knowing to read when the defense is coming from and quickly making a move or kicking off to the weakside to an open teammate will help her defense have a high percentage chance at scoring.
Fall Exclusive 2022
Emma was an active and physical post player out on the court. She showed good speed to get down the court and look to post up before defenders could get back to contest. She showed an ability to bury defenders and hold her ground allowing her teammates to have a good target to drop the pass down to for a high percentage shot. She also showed the ability to step out to the free-throw line extended and hit the jump shot with a soft touch on the ball. On defense, she stayed low to the ground and moved her feet to keep herself between her matchup and the basket, forcing them to have to shot over her. Her area of opportunity would be working on slowing down on her shot on her back to the basket shot attempts. At times she allowed the defender to speed her up and forced her to try and rush the shot and causing it to come up short or hard off the rim.
