EVALUATION

The Fall Exclusive 2024 

Bethany was at a high level all event long and was a versatile player throughout her games. She had a powerful frame that allowed her to power through contact and finish around or over one or two defenders. She showed that she was equally capable of scoring in the faceup game, hitting midrange and perimeter jumpers as she was posting up smaller defenders with her back to the basket around the rim. She showed a deceptive quickness and solid ball-handling skills that allowed her to quickly maneuver past defenders off the bounce and finish at the rim with consistency. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on finishing with her offhand inside the paint. She showed she could get two feet into the paint almost at will, and continuing to work on being automatic with both hands and finishing through contact will make it even more difficult to try and slow her down from scoring.

Fall Exclusive 2023 

Bethany showed herself to be a versatile player who showed herself to be effective both inside and outside the arc. With her high shot release, she displayed a silky-smooth perimeter shot that allowed her to burn the defense from 3-point range with consistency.  She also was more than comfortable putting the ball on the ground and using her strength to absorb contact and power up for strong finishes around the rim. Her hustle was highlighted by her rebounding as multiple times she crashed in quickly from outside the paint and tracked where the ball was going and beat the opposing players to the ball and quickly laid it back up for second chance points. Her area of opportunity would be continuing to perfect and strengthen her ball-handling skills. While she showed she was comfortable putting it on the ground, at times, if there were multiple defenders or pressure out on the perimeter, she seemed less confident and at times lost the ball with indecision. Adding a stronger handle to her game will help her add another dimension to her game. 

MN LVL Up Combine 2023 

Bethany was a difficult matchup all event long. She brings good size along with guard-like ball handling that make her an effective player anywhere on the court. Her ability to size up her defender out on the perimeter and power past them was on display all event long. She could get to the rim with two or three strong dribbles and showed the body control to gather and take the contact while still finishing the shot at a high rate. She also showed off a capable shooting stroke and if the lane looked crowded, she would not hesitate to step into her jumper. On defense, she showed the ability to be able to be disruptive and effective no matter who her matchup was at that given time. She showed the strength to body up with post players and not allow them to overpower her around the rim. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on and add counter moves around the rim. Once she gets into the paint off the bounce, a gather and pump fake could send the defenders flying and leave her with more open scoring options. 

Summer Showcase MN 2023 

Bethany has an outstanding ability to finish shots through contact. She used her upper body strength to not only absorb but to body up the defender with contact and still calmly finish the tough shot. She showed a high-level ability to finish contested shots throughout the whole camp. Another strong aspect to her game was her ability to fight for tough rebounds in a crowd and as soon as she secured the ball, she would turn and look to push the pace and try and get quick scores on the other side. She showed off her strong handles against pressure and never allowed defenders to speed her up or force her into bad passes or turnovers. Her area of opportunity would be to work on added a quick pump-fake to her skillset around the rim. Because of her ability to finish inside the paint, if she throws a pump-fake, defenders are going to bite and give her easy open looks. 

Fall Exclusive 2022

Bethany is a guard who brought good size and a versatile scoring ability to games. Her size and confidence handling the ball allowed her to probe defenses seeing over defenders and finding the weak spots in the defense. Once she had located open teammates, she showed she could put a pass right on the money and put her teammates in a great position to score. She also showed that she was capable of scoring herself off the bounce and often used her combination of speed and strength to power past defenders and get the shot close to the basket. She also showed that if her defender sagged off or was slow to recover, she was a capable jump shooter and showed off a silky-smooth shooting stroke. Her area of opportunity would be to continuing to work on not allowing defenders to rush her once she is around the basket. At times, if there was a crowd, she would rush the shot and it would come hard off the backboard when she had the size mismatch and could of finished over the defense with a slower, more controlled shot. 

MN Featured40 2022

Bethany displayed versatility on both sides of the ball. She showed strong handles and was able to get past pressing defenders and control the dribble in a crowd. She had good body control when she looked to score from inside the paint. She used her upper body strength to power through contact and showed a soft touch around the rim to lay the ball in off the glass. She had a calm about her when she was inside the paint and didn’t allow defenders to speed her up or force her into rushing her shot. Her patience often allowed defenders to fly by and give her open looks. Her are of opportunity would be to work on adding pass fakes and pump fakes to her skillset. Adding those counter moves will force defenders to be even more off balance when she has the ball and she has the body control to be able to perform them smoothly and effectively. 

Summer Showcase MN 2022

Bethany showed a nice ability to probe the defense off the bounce and use her upper body strength to overpower defenders for close range shots around the rim. She showed a good handle on the ball and could control the dribble even against pressure or in a crowd inside the paint. She didn’t allow defenders to speed her up on either side of the game and she didn’t allow herself to be out of position on defender or ever get out of control on the offensive side. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on and get more confident in her outside shot. She showed a nice shooting stroke and continuing to add a consistent outside shot will help open up the lanes for her to attack and make her a complete offensive weapon on the court.
