Izze Austin is an incredible athlete. She is fast, fierce and her competitive spirit shows up everyday in a positive way. She is a highly coachable athlete that brings positive energy and enthusiasm to the floor and the sideline for any team's success. As a basketball player, Izze has a great skill set for her age and a great understanding of the game. She has played for the Minnesota Fury 2029 Blue for the last four seasons. She played on the Edina High School Varsity and JV teams in her 7th and 8th grade years, starting this last year; Edina is a Class AAAA school in the highly competitive Lake Conference. She was selected for All Lake Conference in 2025, scoring 295 points (10.5 PPG), 151 rebounds (5.4 RPG) and 72 steals (2.6 SPG).

2025 Freshman Focus Izze was the definition of energy and intensity during the event. She showed elite-level speed and athleticism that allowed her to outrun or outwork opponents with consistency. She was a strong rebounding guard who was able to give multiple efforts at jumping and keep after it until she secured the ball. When she was headed towards the basket, it was extremely difficult to slow her down as she powered past and through defenders with ease. She displayed an impressive ability to absorb contact and either power through that as if they were not there or focused on the rim and finished the shot. She also showed off smooth handles that allowed her to keep defenders off balance and sagging off to try and prepare for her drive. She showed that she was a willing passer and often could pull in multiple defenders and swing the pass to an open teammate for a high percentage look. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on defending without reaching. With her intensity and energy, she at times got over physical and reached in, allowing the refs to call her for the hand check. Being more selective in going for steals would allow her to be even more effective as a defender. 2029 Only Showcase MN Izze was an electric guard when she was on the court. She showed hyper-quick moves that at times made her defenders look flat-footed and stuck in spot as she scored the ball. Her hesitation dribble and ability to finish around the basket were some of the most impressive throughout the entire showcase. Because of her ability to create off the bounce, it appeared she had defenders on their heels anytime she touched the ball. On defense, she provided physicality and quick movements that allowed her to keep her matchup in front of her and make them try and score over her. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on finishing with her offhand when she creates around the rim. She showed she can get into the paint with ease and continuing to work on being automatic with both hands and finishing through contact will make her even more difficult for defenders to try and contend with on the court.
