Kayla can play position 3, 4, and 5. High School: - Rookie of the Year 2021 - Most Improved Player 2021 - High School State appearance 7th & 8th Grade State Grade Champs
8th Grade
Meltdown Tournament - July 2021 Kayla showed herself to be a solid inside-outside forward. She showed the ability to knock down the open 3-pointer when defenders were late to recover out to her. Inside the paint, she showed her ability to post up strong hold off the defender and finish close to the basket. Kayla also showed she is a capable ball handler and could make powerful drives from the top of the key and finish around defenders on the move. From the forward position, she has a good read on where the openings are and flashes to the openings in the teeth of the defense and create a shot for herself or quickly pass it to an open shooter or teammate down low. Her area of opportunity would be continuing to work on her back to the basket counter moves. While she showed the ability to post up and finish, if she can add counter moves such as pump fakes, up-and-unders, she could keep defenders guessing and lose them for uncontested shots under the basket.
