MN AAU State Prelims 2023 

Schultz is a known strong outside shooter, but she showed that she can be equally effective in other scoring opportunities. She showed good body control both in the air and on the move when she looked to attack off the bounce. She showed she could hang in the air or contort her body to draw contact and still finish the shot. She also showed a good engine when it came to running the floor and was usually one of the first players making it back or trying to put pressure on defenders to hurry back or get scored on. Her area of opportunity would be on defense as at times it appeared she reached in and got caught for fouls a couple of times. Holding off going for the ball more or trying to secure the steal in the passing lane to avoid fouls and stay on the court longer.

Jessa showed that she was a high-level creator with the ball in her hands. She displayed the ability to play with her heads up and is scanning the court for openings both her herself to look to score or where her open teammates are on the court. She showed a nice shooting stoke in the midrange as she has a nice high release and multiple times got the shot over an outstretched hand and it still found the bottom of the basket. She also was creative off the bounce and once she got her head and shoulders past the defender, she showed the ability to finish layups with either hand and contorted her body to avoid contact and still focus on finishing the shots. Her area of opportunity would be working on continuing to add a consistent outside shot. At times she seemed hesitant to take an outside shot when she had the space and opening. 

Holiday SZN Showcase 2021

Jessa showed that she is a strong guard with an improved jump shot. She showed off the work she has put into her shot and is now a strong scorer from the guard position. She is comfortable both taking the outside shot as well as putting the ball on the floor and finishing the shot inside the paint. She showed that she has the upper body strength to absorb contact and finish through it as if the defender wasn’t event there. Her area of opportunity would be continuing to work on her handles. At times she would allow the defense to speed her up and allow them to try and knock away her ball from her.
