Laila showed herself to be a lethal outside shooter during the event. Her hot spots were the corners. If she got a look or even an inch of daylight, she was going to launch, and it likely found the bottom of the net. She has both a nice high release as well as a quick release which made it an extremely difficult shot to contest. She showed off her high basketball IQ also reading a few times when defenders were charging out too hard and throwing a pump fake at them to send them flying past her and then calmly drilling her 3-pointer. Her area of opportunity would be to continue to work on putting the ball on the ground. If she sends a defender flying, two hard dribbles could get her close to the basket to power up for a close-range bucket. Adding the threat to attack off the bounce will most likely force defenders to pick their poison of how they will live with her beating them.
