She Elite Skills Academy

Coach Jay Moore may have something up his sleeve with his new She Elite Skills Academy series. The Southside of Atlanta based trainer has been one of the most influential figures in girls basketball player development over recent years. With a catalog of clients like Jonquel Jones, Tiffany Hayes, Rhyne Howard, Tynice Martin, and Christyn Williams just to name a few. Coach Jay has been working with some of the best behind the scenes. With his vast resume of top tier women basketball clients, he has become regarded as one of the best women basketball trainers in the southeast!

Due to COVID, a lot of things have changed in the world of sports. With the closing of gyms and schools and not allowing players or coaches to be in public school gyms, a void has been created for opportunities for players to get work on their game and get better. With the lack of resources for players, Coach Jay has created the She Elite Skills Series. This series is used to allow players a safe and informative location to have skill development opportunities with some of the best in the women’s game.

She Elite is a skills camp focused solely on player development and branding. If you were in attendance you would have constantly heard the trainers reiterating to the campers this is about skill development solely, and not who is the best player. A skill-focused camp is a unique aspect for a camp when the mass majority of camps are now based on who are the best players.

Camp director Jay Moore of Bouncenation training has brought in a supporting cast of some of the elite skills trainers in the basketball world. Dorian Lee of Bball 101 is an Atlanta legend when it comes to training. Working with women like Asia Durr and Diamond Deshields in recent years he has made himself a staple in the basketball training community. Pitts of Pitts Academy is one of the top upcoming trainers in Atlanta. He has been developing some of the next generation’s best in the likes of De’mauri Flournoy and Flau’Jae Johnson just to name a few. These trainers, with Coach Jay, create a player development environment like no other. From the setup of the camp, each trainer had time to showcase what they provide as a trainer. The camp was broken down into station work. In each station, the assigned trainer worked on a different aspect of the game.

Along with elite level trainers were some of the best guest speakers for upcoming female hoopers. On air radio personality and social media star Ms. Basketball came with a high energy speech teaching the young ladies about life after basketball, using the game as a door to other opportunities , and their brand. SEC great, WNBA point guard, and now motivational speaker Meg Simmons spoke to the campers as well. She answered any question campers had as well as gave them insight on the life and journey of a pro basketball player.

The talent in attendance was high end. Top-ranked juniors Sydney Bowles of Woodward Academy and Flau’Jae Johnson of Sprayberry lead the way. Young talented underclassmen like freshman Sanaa Tripp of Newton and Malaya Jones showcased their talent. Even middle schoolers like McKayla Taylor were in attendance. She Elite was deep with top tier kids and top tier talent. This talent created a high intensity and a fun and engaging environment. With the environment being not so competition-based, players were allowed and encouraged to network and communicate with the other players that they normally are not in the mindset of talking to.

She Elite Skills Academy was a great event to attend with a different approach. Each player left with skills and connections that they could use to continue to help them on their personal basketball journey. An impressive staff with a great message. We would recommend this series of camps for any basketball player.
