The 2021 travel season is about to start and rumors of mergers abound throughout the state. Earlier in the year several high profile mergers and collaborations vaulted programs around the state into a more prominent position in the club world.
Triple Threat has joined FGB for the 2021 season and will serve as FGB’s official program in North Florida going forward. FGB has a rich history of success in North Florida essentially taking over the area in 2016 and has had every Division I player in Clay, St. Johns, and Duval County since that time. In a statement from FGB: “Getting Triple Threat on board with FGB has to be one of the biggest moves in club basketball. Coach Tiffany is an elite skill developer who has built the largest club in the area. I believe with the resources and partnerships FGB has already in place it is going to provide opportunities only FGB and Coach Tiffany can provide in North Florida.
We sat down with Coach Tiffany on her thoughts on joining FGB, what it means for her players and club, and the overall impact on North Florida.
JAS: Tell us about your program how did you get started and the history of your program.
Coach Tiffany: After coaching basketball for 13 years in Indiana I moved to Florida and quickly realized the need for fundamental basketball in North Florida. I started Triple Threat in 2017 with 16 elementary-middle school girls from the Jacksonville area.
JAS: What is the goal the overall for your program and players?
Coach Tiffany: We continue to grow year over year and our goal is always the same: Prepare our girls for middle school, high school, and college. Work hard, build leaders, and continue to win games and grow with a positive attitude!
JAS: Why did you decide to join FGB for the 2021 travel season?
Coach Tiffany: We are teaming up with FGB for the level of exposure that I will be able to provide the high school players who have worked so hard to play at the next level. Looking forward to Having a team of supporters and coaches in our corner to help support that effort!
JAS: Who are some of the top players in your program to watch for the 2021 club season?
Coach Tiffany: Our Top players are currently leading our teams in all aspects of the game. From seeing the floor to knocking down the shot and defensive intensity.
