2023 Nicole Melious, a 5’8 Junior Guard from Susan Wagner High School, scored a school record 57 points to along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. She also recorded her 1000th career point in only 33 high school games. She was 8-12 from beyond the arc and did all of this in 3 quarters.
As a freshman, Melious led NYC in scoring averaging 28 point per game. As a sophomore, in a shortened season due to COVID, she averaged 40 points per game. The Georgia Tech Commit announced herself as a Gatorade POY Candidate with her stellar play. Nicole is a sharp shooter with a ton of range. She is a 3 level scorer who has shown a great ability to get to the basket and finish through contact. She’s a true gamer who has a great feel for the game and has excellent court vision.
As Hoopers NY program director Bryan Williams said “when the lights are on, she steps up and shines the brightest”. Williams went on to say in 30 years she’s the best shooter he has seen in the girls game.
