Day 1 of the Select 40 East started off with a bang and showed that the S40 teams were prepared and ready to compete. Lots of high-level guard play was on display and the amount of talent on the floor was impressive. The Wisconsin Lakers 2024 continued their dominance from last season and were prepared to defend their Select 40 Title from a year ago.
Here is a look at the standout players from Day 1 at Select 40 Session 1 (East):
- Teagan Mallegni – 2024 – WI Lakers 2024 White
The recent Iowa commit put on a show in front of her future coaches on Day 1 of the Select 40 (East). Mallegni showed her ability to score at all three levels and again demonstrated how she is one of the elite shooters in the 2024 class. The biggest take away from Day 1 was the variety of ways she can shred a defense and the ever evolving range on her 3.
- Sanai Green – 2026 – Elevate Elite 16U
Green affected the game on both ends of the floor and played with such a high motor. Constant energy on the defensive end, she is able to guard all 5 positions on the floor and guard them well. On the offensive end, Green is just as comfortable leading the break as she is posting up and scoring in the paint. She is a rebounding machine that is relentless on the glass.
- Olivia DiFranco – 2024 – MAC 2024
DiFranco is a smooth lefty that can consistently knock down perimeter jumpers. Her strong build allows her to bully smaller defenders and finish with contact on drives. DiFranco scored efficiently off ball-screen action and was able to handle multiple defensive coverages off the ball-screen.
- Mia Pauldo – 2025 – Hurban Legends of Jersey 17U
Pauldo is one half of the @TwinBackCourt that has coaches seeing double. She handles the ball like its on a string and very effectively uses her dribble to get to a variety of shots. Pauldo has the ability to score from anywhere on the floor and does a great job setting her teammates up to get buckets.
- Sinai Douglas – 2024 – Legends U Black 17U
Douglas is one of those lead guards that has great control of the game and pushes her team to play faster. She is explosive and electrifying with the basketball in the open court and is constantly putting pressure on the opposing teams’ defense. Her ability to consistently score from the perimeter has improved, but it’s Douglas’s ability to create scoring opportunities for her teammates that keeps coaches coming back to watch her!
- Trinity Jones – 2026 – Mac Irvin Fire Godfather
Jones is a long and athletic forward that excels in the full-court. She is a menace to opposing teams at the front of the press and has the athleticism and motor to guard every position on the floor. She runs rim to rim as well as any player I saw all weekend and the hands to catch just about any pass thrown her way. A rebounding machine that has a great knack for finding the basketball off them rim, good luck trying to keep her off the glass.
- Kylie Torrence – 2025 – Elevate Elite 16U
Torrence has length and athleticism that allows her to elevate over defenders. She is effective off the bounce, in the midrange & attacking the rim. Her pull-up jumper was one of the smoothest at the Select 40 this weekend.
- Emma O’Brien – 2026 – IL Lady Lightening 15U
O’Brien has great size on the perimeter. She can really extend defenses with her ability to drop 3s from all over the court. Excellent range for her age and has the ability to also score off the bounce.
- Kyraha Parnell – 2024 – WV Thunder Select 17U
Parnell showed great versatility all weekend. She excels in the open court and both runs the floor and attacks the rim with ease. Parnell has a workhorse mentality when it comes to rebounding the basketball and is always crashing both the offensive & defensive boards hard. A three level scorer, she showed the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers and score in the paint.
- Clare Coyle – 2024 – East Coast United 17U
Coyle does a little bit of everything for ECU. She is an active defender that uses her length to guard quicker defenders. Coyle shoots the 3 well and has the ability to extend the defense to open things up for ECU’s athletic perimeter players. She rebounds at an efficient clip and has the ability to start the fast break.
- Natalie Beaudoin – 2024 – Firecrackers 17U
Beaudoin was arguably the best shooter at Spooky Nook. She has great size & uses her length to her advantage. A quick release and deep range make her tough to guards. She does a great job moving without the ball and setting up her defenders so she can get to open shots.
- Makena Christian – 2024 – WI Lakers 2024
- Melana Eyer – 2026 – Sideline Cancer Dynamite 2025
- Reese Gaytan – 2024 – MI Mystics
- Zahra King – 2024 – New Heights NYC 17U Dom
- Juliette Leroux – 2026 – SLAAM 26 Woodson
- Madison Parrish – 2025 – Legends U 16U Black
