Select 40 Session 1 took place this past weekend in Cincinnati (East) and Dallas (West)! This circuit is loaded with some incredibly talented teams and players, which made for some must-see match-ups throughout the weekend. Here is a look at the standout players from Day 3 at Select 40 Session 1 (West):
- Breyana Kimmons – 5’3 G – 2025 – Jason Kidd Select
Breyana is a feisty, passionate guard who works extremely hard on both ends of the court. She doesn’t let her height stop her from being the most aggressive player on the court. She’s quick, sees the court well, takes it strong to the basket, and has a nice floater finish.
- Laila Boylan – 5’10 G – 2027 – New Mexico Clippers Lockdown
Laila is very active and is a nightmare for teams defensively. She uses her length and speed to get deflections and steals. She finishes well in transition and through contact.
- Olivia Flynn – 5’7 G – 2025 – Michigan Mystics
Olivia is a fun player to watch. She is fiery and plays with loads of energy. She has a quick crossover and a nice stroke on her shot. Olivia is a do-it-all player.
- Shay Ijiwoye – 5’6 G – 2024 – Jason Kidd Select
Shay is a smart guard, who makes good reads. She has great court vision and plays with a sense of urgency. She is composed under pressure and has tight handles. Shay finishes well in transition and through traffic.
- Brooklynn Charlo – 5’11 G – 2025 – New Mexico Clippers Lockdown
Brooklynn has a sweet stroke from beyond the arc. She’s always ready to catch and let it fly. She uses her length to disrupt offenses and get her hands on passes.
- Maliya Hunter – 6’0 G – 2027 – Team Kidd
Maliya has natural abilities that can be seen from miles away. She’s lengthy, agile, and energetic. She has a nice shot, and she is only going to get better with time.
- Tori Oehrlein – 5’11 G – 2026 – Minnesota Suns
Tori is playing up 2 age groups and you wouldn’t even be able to tell. She’s confident, aggressive, and not afraid of contact. She shoots it well from the perimeter and crashes the glass for rebounds. The sky is the limit for this young guard.
- Emily Larsen – 5’11 W – 2026 – Lady Martin Brothers
Emily can flat-out shoot the ball! Once she gets hot, she’s hard to stop. She also uses her size to get to the rim and finish. Defensively, she’s hard to score over because of her length.
- Kaniya Boyd – 5’9 G – 2024 – Las Vegas Bulldogs
Kaniya GETS IT DONE. She is fast and unstoppable in transition. She’s unselfish and finds her teammates to get them easy buckets. One of the best parts of her game is how she uses her deceptive length to get her hands on the ball to get steals and deflections. It will be exciting to see what this Tennessee commit will do in the next couple of years!
