In Florida ranking high schools is a lot like Bishop Sycamore you have these pseudo teams which may or not actually do school playing in high school, so this is a tough ranking to do because you really don’t know what you are getting. Here is our September version of the Florida Preseason Top 25 – In Florida you can transfer and play up to the first day of practice in October so I still think that the chips may fall after this article so we will update as players continue to move.
1. Lake Highland Prep – Lake Highland was the best team in the state the last two years and returns two Top 25 recruits in Louisville commit Nyla Harris and 2024 Lexi Blue.
2. Montverde Academy – Montverde has loaded up again but this year on another level. They have yet to win the big games in the state to clear the way to be number one we will see if this year will be any different with the addition of Cori Allen among other transfers.
3. Oakleaf – Oakleaf made their first Final Four in the young history of the school behind Florida’s Top player Taliah Scott – They also have two of the Top 10 2023’s in the state in Kaylah Turner and Fantasia James to make them one of the best teams in the state.
4. St. Thomas Aquinas – You could write an entire article on the players who have come into St. Thomas this year. After winning the first title in school history this will likely be their most loaded team.
5. Ely – Despite losing some players to graduation the return of Gianna Corbett and addition of Ashleigh Battle should make St. Thomas vs Ely the best district match up in the state and maybe an early state title match up.
6. Wekiva – Lost a heartbreaker in the State Title Game last year to St. Thomas. Jada Eads is one of the most fun players in the state to watch play.
